Trauma Informed Hypnotherapy

“Trauma is a fact of life. It does not, however have to be a life sentence”
Dr Peter Levine

Helen has been working with trauma informed hypnotherapy techniques since 2019 and her clients have gained a lot of healing by working with her. Please check the Google Reviews for Hypnotherapy with Helen here:

We are learning more and more about trauma and how it impacts our minds and body. While traditional approaches like talk therapy can be helpful to someone who has experienced trauma, it often involves relieving painful experiences that are not always best for everyone. Thankfully, talk therapy isn’t the only option to help those heal. Trauma-informed hypnotherapy can be extremely effective, without the need for extensive storytelling or reliving traumatic events.

The state of hypnosis is the same state that can be seen during a heightened emotional state or when you lose track of time during routine activities. This state can be tapped into during therapy to enable access to the subconscious mind and shift  thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.

Often trauma will be stored in our nervous system as an implicit memory, a repressed memory. When we experienced the event that caused trauma our nervous system fired up (usually going into the fight/flight response) and the memory was stored in the brain and body.
If, at that time we had no emotional understanding of the event, or no resources to work with to help us deal with the event, we repress this memory and move on with life.

However, as we move through life it is likely that something (related, or non related) will trigger the nervous system, which fires up triggering the fight/flight response. and physical sensations. Often we have no idea why.

What is happening is that our brain and body remembers the event and wants to keep us safe – therefore triggering our nervous system to jump into the fight/flight response. The body will produce a feeling to remind us to get away from the danger. It can be frustrating if we don’t even know why the feeling arises.

If you have experienced trauma, or if you are experiencing unexplained symptoms consider using hypnotherapy to tune into the body for healing the root cause.

Testimonials

the following testimonial is an excerpt from a google review on Hypnotherapy with Helen

“I’ve tried several therapists and Helen is very unique. Life-changing is not an overstatement. I can’t rate her highly enough.

She is extremely effective with CPTSD and emotional trauma. Orders of magnitude stronger than other modalities I’ve tried, on par with EMDR and toltec recapitulation. She’s an excellent professional. Carries out the sessions perfectly and orderly.

I came with a very specific idea of how i wanted the treatment to go, what things i wanted to do and what things i was completely against. I expected to be met with resistance or distrust, but instead she jumped right on board, took my views and concerns, and started constructing a way of working specifically to my requests. One of the first times ever i was able to *work WITH* someone as a team, and not me just as a recipient of help. This is empowering.

She’s very empathetic, and makes me feel very safe, acknowledged, and understood (things i’d rarely find). I’ve been truly surprised by the level of attention to my worries and issues, and her capacity to remember and take them into account.
She’s also experienced with people from other cultures. My way of communicating was never an issue, she helps me out even when i lack words or express differently.

She’s always proactive, and positive about how to help.
On top of that she’s very very clever. More than once she has surprised me with her ideas and skills.

Another thing that i like is that she can be very pragmatic and clean of ideologies, beliefs, and other mystic decorations, and focus on what works. But at the same time she’s very open, non judgemental, and knowledgeable.

By far one of the best therapists I’ve ever *worked with*..”

“Thankyou for helping me to heal from my first birth,  I think I would be freaking out now if you didn’t prepare us. In one of the exercises we did I literally came out of it feeling so much lighter, more free – I felt like the monkey had been taken off my back.”

My hypnotherapy session with Helen was incredible, and incredibly helpful. Having spent a lot of my life trying to think my way through feelings (to avoid experiencing them), I was able to tune in and feel more in one session than I’d felt in many, many months – and it was wonderful. I felt completely safe and supported. This was fascinating and so, so helpful. I’ll be back Helen!.”
